More than 10 years ago, I was a young ambitious linguistics student ready to travel the world and start a career in investigative journalism. Life should have been exciting, but there was one problem – I suffered from chronic fatigue and a severe Candida yeast infection. At the same time, I further changed my eating habits and adopted a primarily plant-based diet in order to restore my gut flora and give my body the possibility to heal.
After about a month of eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and drinking plenty of green juices, I started to notice a huge change in my energy, weight and overall health. I lost 10 stubborn pounds that I hadn’t been able to drop, I woke up feeling refreshed and energized after only 7 hours of sleep, my skin cleared up and I finally found a way to enjoy my favorite comfort foods and desserts without feeling guilty or bloated afterwards.
