Today I’ve got two recipes from the new book in store for you: Brain Fuel Coffee for intermittent fasting, and a Keto Granola Bowl aka super speedy breakfast.

Intermittent fasting is a way of eating where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. I follow the 16:8 method on days that I’m not exercising or when I’m just not hungry in the morning. This means that you fast for 16 hours (for instance from 8pm until noon the next day) and then have your meals within a timespan of 8 hours (12am-8pm). It’s one of the most effective strategies to help your body burn fat for fuel and it can also be very healing to your digestion. You can read more about right HERE.

Would you like to give intermittent fasting a try but do you usually wake up feeling very hungry? Give your body time to adjust by replacing your regular breakfast with two to three cups of Brain Fuel Coffee to keep you going until lunchtime: coffee mixed with organic grass-fed butter or ghee (clarified butter, ór cacao butter for a vegan version) and MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides from coconut oil). Don’t drink coffee? Try this Brain Fuel Turmeric Latte instead, or use matcha tea as a base.

You can find out more about the powerful health benefits of MCT oil and organic grass-fed butter or ghee in our Start to Keto eBook.

If you’d like to practice intermittent fasting to activate your body’s natural DNA repair, it’s best to fast with just water, herbal tea, plain coffee or broth.

If you’d like to give fasting a try to soothe your digestion, break through a weight loss plateau or help your body to produce ketones (= burn fat for fuel), you can replace your regular breakfast with a brain fuel coffee or latte.

Vele groetjes, Julie
