Parsley is one of my absolute favorite detox herbs. I love adding it to my morning green juices because it ‘wakes up’ your digestion and reduces water retention. Perfect if you want to enjoy glowing skin & a flat stomach instead of puffy eyes & a bloated belly! This Apple Parsley Green Juice tastes incredibly refreshing and it only contains 5 simple ingredients. It is the perfect replacement for a cup of coffee if you need a quick energy boost in the morning!
Apple Parsley Green Juice
SERVES: 1 person (1 large glass)
EQUIPMENT: juicer OR blender + nut milk bag / cheesecloth
2 small sweet apples
½ large cucumber
½ small lime
2 handfuls of kale (or spinach, chards, collard greens…)
2 handfuls of parsley
Add apple, cucumber, lime, kale and parsley to the juicer. Pour into a glass.
JULIE’S TIPS & TRICKS:
- Parsley is not just a garnish. It is loaded with essential nutrients such as calcium, iron and vitamin C. Just one cup of parsley has 20% of your daily requirement of iron and 6 times the vitamin C as an orange.
- If you don’t have the time to prepare this Apple Parsley Green Juice in the morning, try adding finely chopped parsley to your salads, soups and wraps. Just make sure you don’t actually heat it, because it will lose its precious nutrients almost immediately.
