Sugar Free Ginger Orange Iced Tea

Sugar Free Ginger Orange Iced Tea

Drinks

I used to LOVE iced tea as a child, but I stopped drinking it a long time ago because of the refined sugars. As a teenager, I switched to lightly sweetened herbal and green tea and later on I became a big fan of unsweetened red bush tea. I still have at least one cup of green red bush tea a day. During the colder fall and winter months, it comforts me and completely warms me up. During summer time, I prefer to drink it chilled. However your prefer it, this Ginger Orange Iced Tea will spice up your day!

Ginger Orange Iced Tea

SERVES: 1 ½ liter Iced Tea

EQUIPMENT: large pitcher

INGREDIENTS:

1 liter of red bush tea
½ liter of ginger tea
10 drops of pure liquid Stevia (or 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, coconut nectar...)
½ orange, peeled & chopped

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine red bush tea, ginger tea, Stevia and orange into a large pincher. Stir well and let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Put the tea in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes in order to serve cooled. Add extra ice cubes if needed.

JULIE’S TIPS AND TRICKS:

Want to stay warm in the winter? Serve this tea as a hot drink instead of an iced version and add extra ginger juice for extra spiciness.
